So I'm going to try ayahuasca for the first time soon. My plan is to do a small dose to test the water then once I feel comfortable, going for a breakthrough. I'm going to be making the brew with mimosa and syrian rue. What would be a good dose to test this powerful brew for the first time? This is my first true "hallucinogenic" exeperience, so I'm pretty nervous.

I've done a fair amount of research and have asked myself why I want to seek this ally and I believe I have a good reason. Although, if anyone has any tips reguarding the experience or setting please feel free to share.

I was also wondering about how long I should follow the MAOI diet before and after each session. I read that you should go for 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after, but I heard somewhere that you don't have to wait that long at all. A month without ale is a sacrifice I'm willing to make, I'd just like to avoid it. Haha.

3 Grams of rue and 15 of Mimosa was a good first time combination for me.  I got all the info that I needed from reading the posts of Quantum - sometimes in the strangest of places.  I tried to follow the diet for a week as best as I could - I did it religiously for two days before and after - and just did not eat the the day of.  The setting is not that important to me.  It's an inner thing that does not require you to be anywhere but in there - if you know what I mean!  Do not be nervous - just let the aya take you, teach you, and heal you!  good luck on your journey.  Peace.

How can you call it ayahausca when you are using Rue Huh?? You need b.cappi right for the true Aya. I never used Rue but what I have read it is not ayahausca.  Or am I missing something Huh? Please give some feed back on this....

I have used the b.cappi and feel that is the true way. I used both with Mimosa and Chuckruna leaves. I liked the Mimosa was stronger. The leaves were week. Is there a way to make the leaves with same weight as I did Mimosa just as strong? Or you need more Grams of leaves then you do Mimosa.

Viking

PS
B.cappi all the way............ Mother Ayahausca ---- love her and respect her no imitations ....lol

I use the term ayahuasca loosely as a tea consisting of sources for DMT and MAOIs. I'm aware rue isn't the OG, but hey.. It's cheap and works pretty damn well from what I read. I assume if you want the brew to be as strong as it was with mimosa, just add more chuckruna, I could be wrong though. Wish I could be of more help man.

Pacari, how was your experience? Do you remember it well enough to share? Also, thanks a lot for the advice.. Really appriciate it.

Yes, Long Island Viking you are correct; traditionally, ayahuasca is a decoction prepared from the stems of B. caapi and the leaves of either Psychotria viridis or Diplopterys cabrerana.  What we are talking about would be called an ayahuasca analog (I think McKenna applied that term here).  The dream is different without the cappi.  However, the ultimate benefit is not.  The mimosa is more stable and consistent to work with than the leaves.  The leaves vary in potency and are hard to judge.  There is no disrespect to Mother Vine meant, in fact I have nothing but recpect and awe for these amazing plants.  Peace.

Tigersuit

Did you try it yet? when you do I would like to know your experience also. Are you going to try the b.cappi at all?
I would like to know what people get from them both what the difference is. Maybe i'll try the rue one day. I just feel as i'll be cheating on the true aya....lol I don't want the aya spirit getting mad at me and give me a bad trip...lol

Hope your healing journey comes quick it did for me. Can you get a healing with rue?Huh? lol

PS
I know everyone is using about 15 grams Mimosa .. What about the Chaukurna Leaves how many grams you use??? If anyone went that way instead of Mimosa.

Tigersuit what state you from?

Long Island Viking,  I am glad that my first experience was with 'true aya'.  It's hard to put into words, but the Cappi was along for the ride so to speak.  The vine is like a sentinent being throughout the entire experience.  As I was not at all mentally or physically prepared for that matter for the aya experience, it was very helpful to have a 'guide'.  The experience with the analog is the same as far as the healing properties go (at least for me).  However, there are many purists who would readily disagree.  The difference is that the guide is gone - you are on your own.  It's delightfully horrific to sail through hyperspace without a compass!  By the way - great website!

I haven't tried it yet, still have a week or so but I'll make sure to post my experience here once I do.

Oh trust me, if all goes well I will HAVE to try the caapi out. I couldn't call ayahuasca my true ally unless I tried the original out. I'm quessing the healing aspect would be similar, atleast I hope so.. It's kind of the biggest reason I'm seeking the brew.

I live in Oregon btw.

Tigersuit - my experiences have been profoundly personal.  With the exception of the first time, I have gone into it with a purpose.  I have seen myself divided up according to the things that I had done or were doing that were wrong, talked with my grandfather (who died in 1986), and met things/people/beings who all had something to show or tell me.  I got a feeling that lingered for a few days that made everything possible and positive.  It can be scary like any experience of this type at times.  It is so powerful that I am still in awe of it's ability to heal, guide, and illuminate.  Peace.

Thanks for all the info. I'm glad too I only tried ayahausca. I like the guide that was there for me. I guess I would be scared trying the rue with out a guide. Maybe I have to try the b.cappi a few times more before I go solo. But then again why??? Why not just use the b.cappi instead of rue ?

Thanks about the website. I'm working on making a better one. I made that one pretty quick. I need to take more time.

Personally, it's more time efficient, easier to prepare and work with, and stable - not to mention cheaper.  Rue has been a powerful ethnogen that has been known and used by man for centuries.  It has been a powerful, honest, and effective ally.  It has shown me things that I still do not understand!  Sort of two paths to the same place.  Peace.

Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to this. I have my rue and am just waiting on the mimosa to arrive.

I have one more question.. Would 8g mimosa and 3g rue be good for a test dose? I'm trying to find a dose just enough above threshold to gain some insight, without blowing myself away.

Maybe I'm more sensitive than others, but my first time I used 2g Rue and 15 Mimosa...and I blasted off. Ultimately, it was a wonderful, powerful, healing experience, but WAY more than I thought I was in for. I was trying to "test the water" myself, but ended up understanding the secret of the cosmos.
