Oxy
« on: January 12, 2010, 09:30:36 AM »

So I have a buddy who just got his appendix out, he has run out of Oxy but he is still in tons of pain. So I was thinking of offering him some kratom, he was taking 20mg every 4 hours or so. I have some boe tai and maeng da, does anyone have any recommendations for how much kratom he should be taking? Or any other ideas of what might help him with the pain? He doesn't smoke things and really doesn't like feeling high, so anything he can take orally would be best and if the feeling of being "high" is low that would be good too.

both of those are more of the energizing strains.
Are these powdered ? If so, start with a teaspoon of either one. Always better to want more than to get too much, y'now ? Of course, that may not be close to oxy.
If it's whole leaf, brew a tea of 3 grams, and up the dose from there.
It's hard to tell how different people react, but if he's never taken Kratom before, and doesn't enjoy feeling high, it makes sense to start slow.
For pain relief, Bali is superior, followed by Indo.(unless its Super Indo, that's probly the best). These are great pain relievers and not as speedy.
Hope that helps, and I hope your friend gets better soon.
Peace,
S.H.

Some other good herbs for pain relief: california poppy, Lotus(especially white), Vervain (where we got aspirin from), Indian Warrior
Kava is a nice muscle relaxer, you can usually get Kavalactone gelcaps at a herb or vitamin store locally.

bali is the best leaf for pain relief but UEI is the best kratom there is for pain--better than any prescription med, for sure!

My husband has been investigating Boe Thai for chronic atypical migraines and apparently it's fairly effective.. might not be the 'best' for this purpose, but it's certainly one of the most reasonably priced (at least at this point).
